Corté, Corsica		The Maure's Head
			The Maures back in the Eleventh Century were the terrors of the Mediterranean. Corsicans captured one of their chiefs, cut his head off and put it on a white sheet. It became the national flag.
	Corsica - The Most Beautiful That's what the Greeks called it way back in the Antiquity, "Kalliste" or the most beautiful. And this little village is CORTE where I grew up and where I go back on pilgrimage every single time I can. Lots of poets and writers came to Corsica to discover its rugged mountains and crystal clear waters. The little yellow house on the lower right is where I grew up.
